baby carrier; let it grow brown/aqua
flowering trees are the essence of spring to me, and i am lucky to live in a house with a magnolia tree in the front yard! magnolia blossoms evolved alongside pollinating beetles- they are found in the fossil record back before bees had come into existence! and yet the magnolia still graces us with its brand new blossoms each spring, persisting through geologic time. it seemed appropriate for this beautiful tree to hold an earth huggy baby carrier, which in similar ways exemplifies the intertwining of old and new- the art of babywearing reaches back into time out of mind, and yet here it is, blossoming again, year after year, and ever evolving! the "let it grow" style carrier features organic cotton print twill whose design was also tree-inspired. while gazing at the board ends hanging off of a logging truck, its designer artistically captured the mix of bittersweetness wrapped into the cycle of birth and death, great age and new life, sharply hewn lines and the tenaciousness of organic form. i hope you too will be inspired by the earthy brown and aqua tones of this versatile carrier.
